Lana McHugh, M.ed., CSCS

Lana McHugh holds a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology and an undergraduate
degree in Health and Human Performance. She is a Certified Health and Fitness
Instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine and is a Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning
Association. Lana has received her Advanced Personal Trainer Certification
through AFAA and she has over eight years of experience as a personal trainer. She has
appeared in several publications and is a former 11 Alive News Fitness Expert.
Lana's goal is to help her clients reach their goals through education and
inspiration. |
Lana has been training athletes for over 8 years and has worked
with athletes of all ages and abilities. Here in Atlanta, she has worked with
professional athletes such as Marci Miller and Kerry Gragg of the Atlanta Beat.
Both of which were looking for help when recovering from knee injuries and were
looking to improve their speed and agility. Lana is also heading the fitness/
speed/agility program (a youth development program) for the Atlanta United
Soccer Association. She has also developed programs for athletes in sports, such as, baseball,
softball, football, basketball, and lacrosse.
Lana is nationally licensed through the United States Soccer Federation
("B" license). She was the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach at Auburn University
from 1996-1998. Since then she has moved to Atlanta and now coaches youth soccer
and conducts Sports Enhancement training sessions at 3 Point Play in South Forsyth.
She works with individuals, small groups and teams. Lana was invited to the W-
League Combine for the WUSA in 2001 and participated in the Atlanta Beat
pre-season camp in 2002. She played Semi-Professional soccer for the Atlanta
Classics where she was a 4-year starter. Before that, she was an All-American
at Berry College where her team won the NAIA National Championship in 1993.
